Physical planning
Why planning on paper or with sticky notes often works better than planning on a screen.
Planning is easier when the pieces exist in the physical world. Paper on a desk, notes on a wall, or cards on a whiteboard make it easier to see the whole shape of the work and move chunks around until they fit.
That movement matters. Shifting pieces around by hand makes the work feel more real and more natural, and it gives the planning pass enough distance to think clearly before anything gets committed.
